The Perfect Journey

An eccentric retreat in the wild. A calm safari with irrefutably fascinating features.

“For as long as I can remember, I have been passionately intrigued by ‘Africa,’ by the word itself, by its flora and fauna, its topographical diversity and grandeur; but above all else, by the sheer variety of the colors of its people, from tan and sepia to jet and ebony.” - Henry Louis Gates.

Kenya is fascinating. From the topography's surreality, to the utmost tranquility you feel once you hit the bush, relish the diversity in the native people's traditions, join in their songs and dances. This safari has a keen eye out for sustainable and responsible tourism. This safari touches on the following regions; Nairobi, Lewa conservancy and the Maasai Mara National Reserve.

Lewa was founded with a mission to be a safe haven to the endangered black rhino species and also to also to facilitate their conservation curbing their extinction. Tens of thousands of rhinos once thrived in Africa’s landscape. Since the beginning of the 20th century, humans have pushed the species to the brink of extinction.

In the 1960s, Kenya was a home to an estimated 20,000 black rhinos, but just two decades later, poaching had reduced the population to less than 300. As a result of conservation efforts, the black rhino population is steadily recovering and there are now over 600 black rhinos in Kenya. However, even with marked progress, the black rhino remains critically endangered. Today, the survival of one of Africa’s iconic species rests on long-term solutions that involve local people, securing its habitat and reducing demand for its horn.

Maasai Mara on the other hand is the home to the 7th wonder of the world, the wildebeest migration. Maasai Mara National Reserve is fascinating. From the big 5, to the different flora and fauna, to the exhilarating plains, dramatic escarpments and ragged hills, valleys and landscapes, to the balloon safaris that enable one to have a clear view of the wildlife.

The altitude may vary from treetop heights or lower, which offers a unique perspective and great photographic opportunities. Sweep your eyes across the panoramic plains and discover the fantastic features unfolding before you, with an abundance of gentle undulating hills, sparkling rivers and verdant grasslands.

Dotted in between this lush terrain you can spot the heads of gentle giraffe foraging from the top of leafy trees, slumbering elephants swaying in the cool breeze, graceful gazelles leaping through the vast expanse and pods of hippos splashing in the water. Probe further and you may see prowling predators stalking across the savanna. This is a once in a lifetime experience.
