Uganda has officially confirmed that travellers entering the country no longer need to present a Yellow Fever vaccination certificate as a condition of entry. The clarification was issued by the Directorate of Citizenship and Immigration Control under the Ministry of Internal Affairs, following a request for clarification from the Uganda Tourism Board.
The immigration authority confirmed that the Yellow Fever certificate is no longer listed among Uganda’s entry requirements on the official e-visa application portal or the National Citizenship and Immigration Control website. Travellers therefore do not need to carry the certificate for entry into Uganda under the current requirements.
The update makes the arrival process simpler for international and regional travellers, removing a document that had previously been associated with entry into Uganda. It is particularly relevant for travellers planning multi-country journeys across East Africa, where entry requirements can vary between destinations.
For the latest information or clarification on Uganda’s entry requirements, travellers are advised to consult official immigration channels or contact the Ministry of Internal Affairs’ Public Relations Office.
Important: The removal of the certificate as an entry requirement should not be confused with medical advice about Yellow Fever vaccination. Travellers should continue to seek appropriate health advice before travelling and check the requirements of any other countries included in their itinerary.
