Lake Natron & Lake Magadi Helicopter Scenic Tour
An experiential helicopter scenic tour to Lake Natron and Lake Magadi as viewed from the Kenyan side.
- Lake Natron and Lake Magadi are mineral-rich soda lakes, both located in the Southern Region of the Great Rift Valley of Kenya, with the larger part of Lake Natron being in Tanzania.
- Visiting these spectacular sites, it’s impossible to ignore the coloration in their waters, which can range from red to pink. This is due to the hot temperatures that come during the dry season, causing the algae in the seabed to start a chemical reaction.
- A visit to these lakes will not only give you a chance at a glimpse of their beauty, but also a lifetime opportunity to see the near extinct species of the lesser flamingos, and the Alcolapia alcalica, otherwise known as the alkaline tilapia. Over the years, these beautiful lakes have attracted many professional aerial photographers.
- The helicopter will depart from Wilson airport to L. Natron (Only Kenyan side), the helicopter will hover around for the best views of the lake as well as photo taking, through Shompole conservancy to Nguruman escarpment then to L. Magadi scenic before heading back to Nairobi Wilson airport.
